An impressive whisky liqueur from Drambuie, with the name celebrating both the legend of its creation during the Jacobite uprising of the 1740s and the company's large collection of Jacobite glassware.
A blend of 21 year old whiskies that was matured for a further 24 years in a mix of sherry and bourbon oak, for a total of 45 years, before mixing with Drambuie's secret recipe of herbs and spices.
The liqueur has been filled into an etched lead crystal decanter and is presented in a double doored wooden cabinet with a replica Spottiswoode 'Amen' glass and a leather bound book telling the story of the Jacobite collection.

The second in the line of inaugural releases from Lagg Distillery on the Isle of Arran. This heavily peated single malt Scotch whisky was distilled twice, before maturing for two and a half years in bourbon casks, and finishing for six months in custom made oloroso sherry Firkin casks. Bottled in 2022 at 50% ABV, non-chill filtered and with no additional colour, Batch 2 gives us promising signs of things to come from the folks at Lagg.
Aromas of smouldering camp bonfires, a touch of milk chocolate, dried vine fruits, and cacao nibs. Earthy peat smoke on the palate is joined by silky caramel, dried prunes, and warm cinnamon. Bonfire smoke lingers, along with gentle tannins, and baking spices.
The third and final release in the series of inaugural whiskies from the young Lagg Distillery on the Isle of Arran. As with Batch 1 and 2, Batch 3 is double distilled from 50ppm peated Concerto malted barley. Batch 3 was matured in first-fill bourbon casks for two and a half years, before finishing in custom made rioja red wine Firkin casks for six months. Bottled at 50% ABV, without added colour or chill filtration, layers of red fruit join the earthy peat at the core of this single malt.
Aromas of a distant, damp bonfire, oaky vanilla, a touch of dusty cocoa powder.
Earthy peat is joined by cocoa nibs on the palate, hedgerow berries, and a touch of salted vanilla fudge.
The earthy peat lingers, with drizzles of salted caramel.
Amrut Bagheera Single Malt Sherry Cask Finish 700ml - Indian
This single malt exhibits vibrant fruity notes with a tone of dried fruits and peach complemented with mild orangey citrus, vanilla and toffee.
TASTING NOTES:
Nose: Nice sweetness, a little artificial, gummy bears, light peat, tutti frutti. Overall, a nice sweet and fruity, but spicy nose.
Taste: nice spice, pepper, spices, a little more sherry character than on the nose, marginal peat notes, oak.
Finish: Pepper, oak spice, sweet notes, again a little undifferentiated, a little sherry, a hint of peat. Interesting combination.

The oldest port house has released 380 numbered bottles of an exclusive very old tawny port in honour of Cristiano Nicolau Kopke, who founded Kopke in 1638.
Kopke CNK is an exquisite blend of wines from the 1920’s and 30’s, as well as the extremely rare Colheita 1900, which Kopke still holds in its wide stock of old wood aged Ports. This is a one of a kind port that stands out for its complex flavours unfolding layer after layer!
The fruit is sourced from old vineyards of Quinta S. Luiz (located in the prodigal sub-region of Cima Corgo), spread along slopes in horizontal levels, on schist-sandstone (greywacke), interspersed with granite.
Tasting notes from Kopke - Mahogany colour with green hues. On the nose it reveals intense and opulent aromas in a perfect combination of notes of spice such as clove, curry and black pepper and notes of dried fruit (hazelnut, fig, walnut), with hints of coffee, chocolate and molasses. The palate offers a remarkable marriage between acidity and sugar, resulting from all the decades of maturing in oak casks, whilst being fresh, full-bodied and audacious. Flavours of jelly, cinnamon, curry, nutmeg and light balsamic combine with other lighter notes of resin. A wine with complex flavours that develop layer after layer.
"Tasted at the Mouton-Rothschild vertical in London, the 2010 Mouton-Rothschild is a modern-day benchmark for the First Growth and here, side-by-side with the 2009, it certainly has its nose in front. It is in possession of quite breathtaking delineation and precision, a crystalline bouquet with black fruit laced with minerals, potent pencil shaving notes, a touch of cold slate. It is totally entrancing. The palate has beguiling symmetry, but for me what really distinguishes this Mouton is its effortlessness. Like watching Usain Bolt in his prime sprinting to another world record, this wine is almost self-effacing in terms of its brilliance. Will Philippe Dhalluin ever better this Mouton-Rothschild? "The 2009 Mouton-Rothschild is as concentrated as the 2010, but it presents itself in a more consumer-friendly, seductive style. Opulently textured and full-bodied with gorgeous levels of crème de cassis, melted licorice, espresso roast and chocolate, it possesses high but sweet, velvety tannins, massive body, and fabulous purity as well as length. This could turn out to be a candidate for perfection in another 8-10 years. It will drink well for 30-50 years, but will always be much more approachable and charming than its 2010 counterpart."

Fermentation was in a combination of 70% / 30% stainless steel and 500 litre French oak, all with wild yeasts. This builds structure and texture into this full bodied, smooth, soft wine with its flavours of summer berries, cherries and plums. It's all here in complex layers and will age as well as drinking impressively now.
