Big City Hazy IPA 6.2%
Big City is a tropical trip, distorted by haze, and buzzy as a droning synth. Resonating layers of Mosaic, with licks of Motueka and Galaxy hops deliver a psychedelic fruit salad packed with mango, guava, pineapple, lime, and apricot. This is not a beer that can stay underground for very long. After all, every flavour we love can be found here.
Brave Old World is a new series of 8 Wired Beers; historic styles brought back to life in modern New Zealand. This is the fifth beer in this series, a Munich Helles Lager, inspired by the classic pale lagers of Germany.
This golden lager is brewed with all German malts, hops and yeast and has been traditionally lagered. Light, with a bread crust-like flavour from the malts, and a delicate lashing of hops for a crisp finish, this is one super delicious, drinkable beer. Prost!

What we have here is a passion project, many years in the making.
We wanted to put our own, beer-inspired mark on our whisky. So instead of making a wash from pale distillers malt, we started with what can best be described as a porter. Dark, chocolatey and malty, fermented with a Belgian saison yeast. After distilling this twice, we aged it in three different barrels:
First it spent a year in barrels that held our famed Imperial Stout, Bumaye.
Then it went into brand new, heavily charred American Oak barrels for two years.
Finally it spent three more years in Bourbon barrels that also held another Imperial Stout.
The finished result is a whisky that is rich and complex. Full of sweet, chocolatey notes from the barley and the stout barrels, layered with complex alcohols, esters and phenols from the fermentation and distilling. This is all rounded off by vanilla, coconut and caramel flavours from the oak.

Hop into a crate-smashing, wumpa-grabbing, crystal-collecting adventure! This Imperial Cold IPA, brewed for the annual WCIPA Challenge at Malthouse, is cold fermented for a super-smooth, crisp finish. In classic WCIPA fashion, we?ve packed this beer with Nectaron, Simcoe, Citra and Cryo Mosaic hops for a huge burst of bright citrus and pine. Packs more punch than a butt-kicking bandicoot!

Inspired by tasty cookies, this imperial pastry stout is jammed full of toasted coconut, toasted oats, vanilla, and cinnamon. So good, you won?t want to waste a single crumb!

S?ren has always wanted to brew an imperial coffee stout, so for 8 Wired?s 15th birthday, he finally got around to making one! We?ve taken the base recipe for the iconic iStout, and cranked the ABV right up. Using an intense, rich, espresso blend from our friends at Rush, this is a truly one mighty coffee experience!

A West Coast IPA, with a shocking twist!? Future Shock is an innovative take on an old-school WCIPA beer, featuring a light, golden and crisp body. A perfect platform for a blend of Columbus, Amarillo and Simcoe hops. The ?shock? is provided by NZ Superdelic, for lovely flavours of citrussy candied orange. Zzzzzap!
Hazewired
New Zealand Hazy IPA

Following the footsteps of trailblazing older brother Hopwired, Hazewired is a beer set to forge its own path. Packed with a plethora of the best NZ Hops, we?ve borrowed Nelson Sauvin and Motueka from Hopwired. An injection of ultra-modern varieties Nectaron and Superdelic makes for one big, juicy Hazy IPA, loaded with notes of tropical mango, candied pineapple and passionfruit. An ode to the past, forged in the present.
This complex brown sour beer was inspired by the traditional Oud Bruin styles of West Flanders, Belgium. Aged in a single large oak foudre (vat) for 5 Years, a collection of wild yeast and bacteria go to work, slowly transforming the beer. The result is a unique beer, with a chocolatey-malt base mixed with sherry, leather, tobacco and a hint of smoke. Lactic acid bacteria add a distinct tartness, and Brettanomyces provide that classic wild funk.
