This nostalgic beer specialty, which can be confidently ranked among the traditional old Bavarian beers, is brewed in commemoration of the good old times and in honor of the brewery’s founder, Johann Liebhard. The special feature of the “Kellerbier” is the fine yeasty cloudiness and the pleasantly bitter taste. As it is bottled unfiltered, many of the natural protein, yeast and hop elements remain contained in the beer

Ayinger Jahrhundert bier Export Lager has a golden-yellow color with a slightly flowery yeast, honey-ish aroma, tastes a little spicy and is full-bodied in initial taste, mild before swallowing and soft with a refined sparkle and fades with a well-balanced hint of bitterness. It is an especially drinkable and harmonious beer.

Brewed with a much as Cornish-grown barley we can get our hands on, korev (4.8% abv) is a Helles style lager with a wonderful pale colour and a clean, crisp taste.

Brave Old World is a new series of 8 Wired Beers, historic styles brought back to life in modern New Zealand. This is the fifth beer in this series, a Munich Helles Lager, inspired by the classic pale lagers of Germany.

This beer is credited for being one of the most popular Munich lagers. Moreover, our brewmasters were among the first to bring Munich lager beer to the Bavarian taps. The recipe for success remains: A perfect balance of malty character and the light bitterness of hops.

Pale gold with a creamy white head.  We have put a New Zealand twist on a traditional Rauchbier.

Schlenkerla Helles is brewed with fine Bavarian aroma hops from the area around the city of N?rnberg. It's lagered in century old caves underneath the historic Schlenkerla brewery and maltings. Schlenkerla Helles is boiled in the same copper kettles and bottom fermented by the same yeast as the historic Schlenkerla Smokebeer. Its subtle smokiness without using smoke malt makes Helles Schlenkerla Lager a unique representative of the classic lager beer style Bavarian Helles.

Tasty lager from 8 Wired.

Not known for their humility, it was an unpleasant surprise to Germany when someone other than Germany made a good beer. A German response to the rise of “that foreign pilsner” was therefore both necessary and urgent for the mental well-being of the entire nation. Helles, a golden lager in a similar vein, but with a smoother, mellower finish was the end result and probably stopped another inconvenient European land war so that was good.
