BASTIDE ST DOMINIQUE CHATEAUNEUF DU PAPE 17

$62.99

Out of stock

This Chateaunuef du Pape is the red equivalent of a big plush velvet pillow and this one cruises in at a very attractive price, relatively speaking that is.

It comes from Gerard and Marie-Claude Bonnet’s estate, founded in 1976, and now home to 27 hectares of grapes as well as the family home in a 16th century chapel.

The style of Chateauneuf can vary dramatically, due to the high number of possibilities when it comes to blending any of the permitted grapes, 13 in total; Grenache, Syrah, Mourvèdre, Cinsault, Clairette, Vaccarèse, Bourboulenc, Roussanne, Counoise, Muscardin, Picpoul, Picardan and Terret Noir.

This wine is a blend of Grenache, Syrah and the late ripening Mourvedre, which brings a mocha, chocolatey deliciousness to the full bodied, complex, earthy style of this outstanding Southern Rhone red.

It’s a stunning wine and offers super drinking now and even better in a wine cellar, no matter how modest your collection is. It’s wines like this one that make collecting such a rewarding investment.
