Scottish Whisky : Scotch
Glenfiddich IPA Experiment is the first Single Malt Scotch Whisky to be finished in casks that have contained India Pale Ale craft beer, brewed by a local Speyside brewery.
Malt Master Brian Kinsman has proven that traditional whisky casks can still be seasoned in a pioneering way. Collaborating with a local Speyside craft brewer, Brian created a bold and zesty IPA beer to imbue our rich oak casks with extra hoppy notes. The experiment resulted in the first single malt Scotch whisky ever finished in craft IPA casks.
Spicy, hint of toasted almond and fruit cake. Exceptional skill, decades of dedication and an inventive mind make a brilliant Malt Master. Earth and soaked wood aromas blend with deep vanilla. Flavours are sharp with spice and round with plum. A hint of toasted almonds gives way to a silky smooth finish. A complete original, from Malt Master, Brian Kinsman.
COLOUR: Deep ruby red.
NOSE: Damp earth and whisky-soaked wood intertwine with deep vanilla and smoky embers.
TASTE: Rich with complex flavours layered by double-maturation. Sherbet and zinginess slowly turn to spice. Tempting plum and cherry follow, with hints of toasted almonds and fruit cake.
FINISH: Silky and smooth.
From Glenfiddich...
For our latest experiment, Brian Kinsman, our Malt Master, travelled to Somerset in the Southwest of England to meet Matilda Temperley, Master Distiller of her family's industry-defining Somerset Cider brandy company.
It was in the acres of vintage apple orchards that caught Brian's imagination.
Somerset Pomona, a blend of apple cider brandy and apple juice, started him on an aromatic journey that led to the first ever single malt Scotch whisky finished in Somerset Pomona spirit casks.

SUMMER FRUITS AND CANDYFLOSS
ABV 47%, 70CL
20 of the whisky industry?s most exceptional minds came together to create this truly unique, pioneering single malt expression.
With its deep golden hue, Project XX embodies the warm, fruity character of a classic Glenfiddich whisky with hints of apple blossom, summer fruits and ripe pear. But its multiple personalities are revealed with hints of sweet candyfloss, cinnamon spice, almonds and rich port tannins with the odd whisper of liquorice. Deep and mellow, the finish is long lasting with a lingering sweet oakiness.
Not to be confused with the similarly named Glen Garry, Glengarry takes its name from the traditional Scottish bonnet worn for centuries, including the days when tartan and kilts were banned. It is an ongoing part of the range of whiskies produced by the Loch Lomond Distillery Company. The 12-year-old single malt is light and floral in character with grassy tones, matured in a mix of Bourbon, refill and recharred casks.
Glenglassaugh 12 Years Old is a harmonious balance of our signature coastal style; lush, tropical and coastal . Matured in bourbon, sherry and red wine casks for luscious waves of ripe fruit carried on an ocean breeze.

Glenglassaugh 2011 Bourbon Barrel Cask is a Single Malt from the "Glenglassaugh Rare Cask" collection.
Aged 9 years, this Single Malt was distilled in 2011 and bottled in 2021 after having aged in Bourbon casks.
Rachel Barrie, Glenglassaugh's Master Blender, carefully chooses each cask from Glenglassaugh's coastal warehose to be bottled as a Glenglassaugh Rare Cask. The distillery enjoys access to stocks of exceptional older whiskies, with some casks dating back as far as 1963.
Bottled from a Single Cask, each edition demonstrates the complex and distinctive character of this traditionnally-crafted Highland Single Malt. As time passes and character evolves, the whisky takes all of its deepening colour from the wood of the cask

Glenglassaugh 2012 Cask No 522: Our Master Blender Rachel Barrie, carefully chooses each cask from the Glenglassaugh Coastal warehouse to be bottled as a Glenglassaugh Rare Cask. Bottled from a single cask, each edition demonstrates the complex and distinctive character of this traditionally crafted Highland Single Malt. Exclusively selected and bottled for Aotearoa, New Zealand.
Distilled well before the distillery was closed for more than 20 years (1986 - 2008), this is a rich and fruity single malt that provides a delicious piece of Glenglassaugh history. These bottles, part of batch three in the distillery's Rare Cask series, have been filled from a single Pedro Xim?nez puncheon that was discovered in Glenglassaugh's coastal warehouses by its new owners.
With lashings of dried fruit and dark chocolate flavours, accompanied by hints of walnut loaf and oak, this will delight lovers of long-aged sherried whisky.
Thanks to years of closure over the past century, Glenglassaugh is a distillery with two types of whisky: very young or very old. This is one of the latter drams, bottled as part of the third batch of single casks released by the distillery. Matured in a cask that previously contained Massandra ? a Crimean fortified wine, similar to sherry ? and bottled in November 2016, it's a rich and dark dram, packed with dried fruit notes.

The second batch of Glenglassaugh Octaves Classic features a more sherried profile than the first batch - something you might be familiar with when it comes to Glenglassaugh whiskies. The one was matured in octave casks made with wood from bourbon, Pedro Xim?nez and Amontillado casks, imparting huge helpings of dried fruit and vanilla notes to the single malt.
Tasting notes:
Nose: Earthy vanilla arrives first, but soon enough you'll find notes of dried cranberries and thick treacle.
Palate: Chocolate, salted caramel and hints of red chilli flakes. A backbone of barley helps it along.
Finish: Damson jam and toasted teacakes (with butter).
The sweet earthiness of our coastal peated spirit is brought to life in Peated Virgin Oak Wood Finish. During finishing in American Virgin Oak casks, Glenglassaugh is shaped by intense notes of candy and fresh spice, as if a sweet shop by the beach, spiced by land and sea. Bottled at 46% with natural colour and is non chill filtered.
Colour: Antique gold.
Nose: Creamy vanilla with toasted oak spice flows over candy store confectionery and crisp freshly peated barley.
Palate: Crisp oak and hints of candied ginger, boiled sweets and brittle toffee, all surrounded by the most deliciously sweet peat smoke.
