It begins with Westwards American Single Malt whiskey. After their whiskey is fully matured, it is then finished to taste in American Oak Stout Seasoned casks for approximately one year. Each cask has held stout beer from a variety of breweries throughout Oregon; including Bent Shovel Brewing, Breakside Brewing, Culmination Brewing, Ex Novo Brewing Co., Fort George Brewery, Migration Brewing, and Sky High Brewing, among others. Their cask finishing imparts a roasted chocolate note that flawlessly accentuates the signature toast characteristics of Westward American Single Malt.
Tasting notes
Rich and robust, with notes of roasted grain, stone fruit, toasted pecan, milk chocolate, and a bold, dry finish.
Whistlebird Gin has been developed by two blokes with a garage, lab grade equipment, artificial intelligence and napkin math.
With their own unique and efficient method of distillation, the breaking down of botanical matter has become many times more efficient and less wasteful than traditional methods.
The botanical mass bathes in a bath of sound (the bird bath) engulfed by low frequency wave lengths which sound like a high pitched whistle.
Maceration occurs when these sound waves uniformly break down our formula through vibration which ultimately saturates our blend with a Scream and a Whistle!
Along with the trademark distillation process this allows for a very fast, controlled, and efficient maceration and distillation.
GOOD VIBES ONLY.
Whitley Neill London Dry Gin - winner of a double gold medal at the San Francisco World Spirits Competition 2007, Whitley Neill Gin is an exceptional London dry Gin, made in England, inspired by Africa. It contains two African botanicals specially selected to create a vibrant gin with bold, warm flavour. These botanicals are Baobab (fruit from the Baobab tree known as the 'tree of life') and Cape Gooseberry. These distinctive wild fruits give Whitley Neill a vibrancy and energy, which set it apart from others, and bring a new twist to the traditions of gin making. Whitley Neill provides a smooth and round flavour profile with a pleasant lingering finish. At 42% ABV it is the optimal strength to hold the flavours and aromas of the botanicals. 5% of all profits from Whitley Neill Gin are donated to Tree Aid.
Windspiel - Theheart of this creation is the spirit of discovery. It drove Fridericus Rex to bring the potato to Germany and inspired us to produce a gin from it. Classic juniper berries, lemons and coriander combined with our potatoes cultivated in rich volcanic soil results in a traditional gin aroma with a mild, delicate flavor. To give it a special character, cinnamon bark and lavender as well as other botanicals have been added - according to a secret recipe of the master distiller. Dedicated to the great passion of Fridericus Rex: "Greyhound".
The third release in Wolfburn's Kylver series features the runic symbol Thurs, which roughly translates as thorn or giant. This is one of the runic symbol found on the Kylver stone which the series is named after. this limited-edition Highland single malt has been matured in a combination of bourbon and sherry casks, creating aromas of vanilla, angelica root, waxy fruit and charred oak on the nose. The palate offers notes of crunchy brown sugar, fried bananas, oily walnut and a hint of something smoky.
Situated on Scotland's rugged north coast, Wolfburn distillery was first established in 1821, rapidly becoming the largest distillery in Caithness at the time. Named after its water source ('burn' being the Scots word for stream). This new release from the distillery celebrates the Chinees New year of 2022, this year being the year of the tiger. Double distilled in small stills for fuller flavour.
46% ABV
Wolfburn Distillery's fourth small-batch release, named Batch 155. Consisting of just 5300 bottles in total, it is the first whisky from Wolfburn to have been matured in one type of cask (first-fill ex-bourbon barrels for close to five years) then finished in another (six months in port hogsheads).
The results are superb: a smooth, rich, easy drinking whisky, rich in colour and with a depth of sweet flavours from the port influence. Like previous Wolfburn small-batch releases, Batch 155 was named after the warehouse in which the casks were matured (Warehouse 1), and the specific row in which the casks were located (row 55).
Nose: Cream-toffee and honeycomb. Vanilla and other gentle oaky tones waft through. Brilliant. Palate: Subtle spices warm the palate only for the honey to calm things down again. Sweetcorn, and brilliant, toasty brown-sugared depth. Finish: Some deft rye; the oak adds dryness. Comment: A bourbon of stunning complexity that really has improved in the last year or so as the depth has intensified. Source: whisky.com
