An exciting introduction to the citrusy dry world of Spain's white Godello grape, an indigenous Spanish white grape grown at high altitude of 550 metres above sea level on shallow soils, where the vines struggle and gain concentrated flavours. Four months of lees ageing in stainless steel adds a creamy note and complexity to this wine.

Gaba do Xil O Barreiro is made from grapes grown on16 hectare estate vineyard located at 400 to 500 metres above sea level near to the town of Larouco, south of the Sil River where the Atlantic influence cools down the vines. O Barreiro expresses this cooling influence in this crisp fresh dry white, which is made from organically farmed grapes grown on red slate and clay soils.

Vinification

Whole bunches are hand harvested in small boxes, with spontaneous fermentation with native yeasts in temperature stainless steel tanks. Post fermentation, the wine is racked into stainless steel tanks, where it is then aged for four months on its fine lees without b?tonnage. No malolactic fermentation. Bottled unfiltered.
