Carlos Moreno's family has been linked to mezcal since the beginning of the 20th century. In 2009, Carlos resumed the family tradition and teamed up with 5th generation maestro mezcalero Pedro Hernandez to create Koch El Mezcal de Oaxaca, with the goal of preserving and promoting mezcal culture. After 10 years of business, they've now integrated more than 15 communities and 50 producing families into their collective. Each batch will vary, so check your bottle for details.
Koch Coyote is made from wild maguey Coyote, which is a rather rare variety. This mezcal is made by mezcalero Pedro Hernandez in San Baltazar Guelavila. It has a round mouth feel and herbal flavor notes with hints of light fruit tones. It is both sweet and spicy

Del Maguey (pronounced ma–gay), Single Village Mezcal was founded in 1995 by internationally renowned artist and Mezcal visionary, Ron Cooper. Ron introduced the world to previously unavailable 100% certified organic, artisanal Mezcal produced the original handcrafted way. Through deep cultural relationships with Zapotec Mexican Indian producers in the remote villages of Oaxaca, Mexico, Del Maguey harnesses ancient, original organic processes. Combining these methods with varying micro-climates and terroir gives each creation its own unique, rich, sweet and smoky character. Every product in their collection is made by individual family palenqueros (producers) in old-style villages. They are the first producer to credit each product after the village where our liquid is made. When you see their beautiful green bottles you know it’s Del Maguey. Most of Del Maguey's mezcals are distilled to proof, so the ABV will vary slightly between batches.
The Del Maguey Pechuga has a nose of basil, lemon, ocean, and fruit. It is almost scotch-like in its smoky taste. The Pechuga production season is limited due to the special ingredients like wild mountain apples and plums that must be in season in order for them to be added to the distillate. This mezcal is triple-distilled and the third distillation requires the vapors to pass through a suspended, skinless chicken breast (“Pechuga†means ‘breast’ in Spanish) before it condenses to form the Mezcal one can drink.

Cocchi is celebrating its 130th anniversary with the launch of a limited-edition Barolo Chinato modelled after a 19th-century recipe. Guilio Cocchi, a pastry chef, founded his namesake company in Asti in 1891. To commemorate its 13 decades, Cocchi has created a single vineyard, single-cask, single vintage aromatised wine called Barolo Chinato Tipo Esportazione, based on a recipe first developed in the 19th century exclusively for export markets. The recipe was originally formulated with a higher ABV and a specific blend of herbs and spices, so it would maintain its quality throughout long journeys by ship. The new bottling is made from the 2016 Barolo DOCG vintage grown in a single vineyard on the Castiglione Falletto Estate, Piedmont, Italy. The expression?s botanicals include cinchona bark, rhubarb root, gentian flowers, laurel leaves, cardamom, coriander and orange peel. Sitting at 18% ABV, the Barolo Chinato was created for straight sipping and is said to pair well with dark chocolate.
THE BOTTLE Each bottle is wax-sealed by hand and features a reproduction of the 1900s label. In preparation for the gifting season, it comes in a ?luxury? box, along with reprints of vintage Cocchi postcards The Barolo Chinato Tipo Esportazione is a highly collectable Limited Edition distributed in premium packaging: ? TASTING NOTES On the nose, it offers rich, woody notes of cinchona bark, dried tobacco leaves, dried roses and cocoa beans, while the palate brings sweetness, dark berries, violets, velvety tannins along with cardamom, liquorice and bitter orange peel. The finish delivers charred wood, cloves and eucalyptus, plus lingering dark chocolate. Limited edition of 1200 numbered bottles.
Here's a red fruited, perfumed Grenache from Australia with a light touch and a refreshing backbone of acidity adding depth and length to this wine. It is made from certified organic vineyard planted in 1946, dry grown in red loamy clay with ironstone over deep limestone. It has spicy aromas, concentrated flavours of red and a note of wild thyme and white pepper.
The grapes in this wine were all hand picked, given 65 per cent whole bunch fermentation with some carbonic maceration and all fermented with wild yeasts. It was aged in French barriques then bottled unfined and unfiltered. It has a modest alcohol content of 12.2 % ABV.

Triple Juniper Gin combines three different distillation processes, each uncovering the bright and earthy qualities of juniper.
Juniper berries are first steeped in Australian wheat spirit for 24 hours. This steep, along with fresh juniper is then added to the still before finally, more juniper is added to the vapour basket to capture the fresh and floral juniper character.
Our eight other botanicals include coriander seed, angelica root, orris root, lemon peel, lime peel, liquorice root, cinnamon and Australian pepper berry.

97 Points, James Suckling
"Very floral with lavender, violets and dark fruits. Medium to full bodied with tannins that build on the palate. Very long and intense. Transparent fruit and evident terror."
94 Points, Antonio Galloni, Vinous
"The 2017 Barolo Conca is laced with the essence of dark cherry, menthol, licorice, lavender, cloves and leather. Ample and deep, yet also super-classic, the 2017 Conca is incredibly harmonious in the early going. Even in this warm, dry vintage, the Conca is one of the most transparent, classic Ratti Barolos I have tasted in some time."
93 Points, Monica Larner, RobertParker.com
"With fruit from La Morra where this historic winery is located, the Renato Ratti 2017 Barolo Conca is balanced and quite elegant, showing no overt signs of ripeness that could be expected of this hot and dry vintage. This bottle circumnavigates those hot-vintage pitfalls with graceful coordination. Wild cherry, crushed flowers, smoke, tart and crushed flint all emerge from the bouquet. The wine shows sweet fruit, but there is an equally measured point of salinity to balance it out. If anything, the mouthfeel in 2017 is a bit drier compared to past vintages."
93 Points, Kerin O'Keefe, Wine Enthusiast Magazine
"Blue flower, botanical herb and French oak aromas come to the forefront. The full-bodied, elegantly structured palate offers dried cherry, pomegranate, licorice and crushed mint framed in taut, close-grained tannins. A mineral note evoking saline lingers on the firm finish."
Elegance, power and structure with layers of mushroom, dried porcini and earthy depths of flavour thanks to the great Nebbiolo grape, which is the heart and soul of Barolo - one of Italy's greatest reds.
96 Points, James Suckling
"This is so perfumed and beautiful with cherries, strawberries and dried flowers that follow through to a medium to full body with firm, fine tannins and a long, energetic finish. All about length and finesse."
94 Points, Kerin O'Keefe, Wine Enthusiast Magazine
"Camphor, pressed rose and oak-driven spice aromas come to the forefront. The smooth, full-bodied palate features spiced cranberry, dried cherry, licorice and coffee bean framed in tightly wound, fine-grained tannins that clench the close. Drink 2025?2032."
92 Points, Monica Larner, RobertParker.com
"Although it is not an official MGA vineyard designation, the Marcenasco vineyard is located directly under the Ratti family winery and is the site most historically linked to the legacy of this estate. The Renato Ratti 2017 Barolo Marcenasco is balanced and fine with a long and polished sensation."
92 Points, Antonio Galloni, Vinous
"The 2017 Barolo Marcenasco is a very pretty, elegant wine. Crushed flowers, sweet red berries, mint, cinnamon and orange peel give this effusive, inviting Barolo tons of aromatic presence. This gracious, refined Barolo will drink well right out of the gate. Tasting it reminds me of the days I often drank this bottling when it was what my bank account allowed."
