Sunshine Brewing - Born of sun, sea and hot afternoons, Gizzy Gold, as it’s known locally, is our classic thirst quenching and award winning session lager. Dry, crisp and refreshing, it has a lightly toasted maltiness over a solid Green Bullet hop backbone.
Fermented at a low temperature with its own imported yeast strain, it’s a time proven brew to wash out the salt out after a hard day’s surfing, working or playing.
A gift to you from us old Gisborne surfers.

Light Pilsner is an award winning beer that is lighter on alcohol and carbs but still packed with all the flavour you would expect from a Sunshine brew.
Tasting Note: We built the malt base to give palate weight to this low carb and light alcohol pilsner. The combination of Citra and Mosaic hops create a flavour driven beer with a refreshingly crisp finish. Great anytime!

The beer has been aged in ex-port and Pinot Noir barrels for 8 months before blending. Then hazelnuts, vanilla, and cocoa nib additions blend together with rich caramel, toffee, and chocolate notes imparted by the malts.
Eclipse Series is celebrating all beers dark and best enjoyed in a warm cosy environment.

The second of our Japanese Lager series. This time it’s a dry lager and we have given it a Kiwi twist by using Waimea hops. The hops give a light lemon citrus vibe and play well with the nuances of the lager yeast profile of pear and red apple. As always, this style will pair well with any food and quench thirst even on the hottest New Zealand day.

We love wheat beers here at Sunshine and it’s time for another classic. Finding a Hefeweissen in New Zealand is hard enough, but “Kristall” or filtered weisse beer is a real longshot. But we are determined to sway the masses with this clear German wheat beer. The simple meeting of pilsner malt, wheat and German yeast always offer up a quaffable brew with phenolic and spicy surprises. Enjoy and hefe nice day!

Chilli Mexican Lager
Once a summer keg only creation, we now have so much demand that we decided to package this spicy delight. Still made with local Gisborne corn, all NZ malts and then sat to rest on Fire Dragon chillies from Northland. A refreshingly dry lager that has just a touch of fire and flavour from our mates up north.

No Access is a fun break that peaks as consistently as our East Coast IPA. Powered by a juicy swell of 5 of the most aromatic hops going around and backed up by a big palate built on Marris Otter, Oats and Wheat. Surges of tropical fruit and lime lead through to an easy bitterness and hazy goodness.
