Barrel-Aged Quad Ale with Ginger & Orange- Beginning with a base of The Lost Abbey's Belgian-Inspired Quadruple Judgment Day, Ex Cathedra was aged in Bourbon barrels for over 12 months before being spiked with Orange Peel, Ginger, and spices.
12.5% ABV.
Blonde sour aged in oak foeders with added guava.
There's an aura of mystery that occurs when we close the doors to our barrel room. No one can say for sure what happens each night but it's obvious there are spirits [ghosts if you will] working their magic. We're not sure how many inhabit our oak forest. At present there are five large foeders and more than 1200 oak barrels for them to hide in, around, and behind.
To this day, no one has managed to see one during the day but our night time brewers hear whispers and the sensation of unnerving drafts of wind arriving out of thin air. It's as if the ghosts want to be seen or at a minimum acknowledged. After 11 years, we felt it was time to give them their due.

Ghosts In The Forest is an oak-aged wild ale that celebrates the 1200 oak barrels and 5 founders in the Lost Abbey?s barrel room.
Slumbering for 18th months, Ghosts in the Forest is a blend of beer from The Lost Abbey Oak Foeders and a few select French oak barrels. This blonde sour focuses on the complexity of Brettanomyces and oak.
?When we first got these massive Foeders, we knew we were going to have to be patient and let the oak work it?s magic? said Tomme Arthur, COO and Co-Founder of The Lost Abbey. ?We?ve since added 3 additional vessels, creating our own ?forest? and we?re really excited to start to blending these beers into future creations.?
TASTE
Ghosts in the Forest begins with a lemon tartness leading to hints of tropical fruit from the Brettanomyces with a refreshingly dry and lightly oaked finish.
6.0% ABV.
Brewed using a generous blend of finest pale, crystal and roasted barley malts, along with the majestic Fuggle hop, to create a wonderful, full-bodied flavour with subtle banana, cherry and rich fruit overtones.

Bayern is our Bavarian-style pils, brewed with German hops, malt and yeast to be as true to this classic style as possible. It?s late-hopped with the fantastic spalter select, renowned for its spicy and earthy flavours with hints of citrus.

Chiron is our beautifully balanced American Pale Ale. We use a curated selection of classic US hops for their distinctive aromas of pine and citrus. These are added onto a foundation of the finest malt to give this beer an inviting light amber hue and a touch of caramel sweetness. Flavours of orange and peach dance on the palate before it culminates with a refreshing hop bite.

A full bodied, robust porter with natural mocha malt flavours from the complex malt grist, complementing the decadent additions of real chocolate to the maturation process.
