Brave Old World is a new series of 8 Wired Beers, historic styles bought back to life in modern New Zealand. This is the third beer in this series, an Oktoberfest Lager, inspired by the classic lager from Munich that takes its name from the famous festival.
This amber-gold lager is brewed with all German malts, hops and yeast and has been traditionally lagered. With a soft, bready body, and a delicate lashing of hops for a crisp finish, this is one super delicious, drinkable beer. Prost!

A Classic Kiwi summer is all about the beach, and this bright, citrusy IPA is the perfect companion to a day of surf and sand. Sticking true to the classics, we?ve loaded this beer with Chinook, Centennial and a dash of Columbus for good measure. A proper West Coast IPA isn?t complete without a pleasant level of bitterness on the finish, delivered via Magnum hops.

Fruit and wheat beer is a classic, yet under-appreciated, combo. For this beer we brewed an American-Style Wheat for a clean, light base beer upon which we could fill with zesty grapefruit ( Citrus Paradisi ). An additional dry-hop helps to accentuate the bright citrus flavours for a supremely refreshing ale - a slice of paradise in a glass!

Hop into a crate-smashing, wumpa-grabbing, crystal-collecting adventure! This Imperial Cold IPA, brewed for the annual WCIPA Challenge at Malthouse, is cold fermented for a super-smooth, crisp finish. In classic WCIPA fashion, we’ve packed this beer with Nectaron, Simcoe, Citra and Cryo Mosaic hops for a huge burst of bright citrus and pine. Packs more punch than a butt-kicking bandicoot!

Brewed in collaboration with our Polish friends at Browar Pinta, tradition dictates that together we?ll make a big, bold, imperial stout! Inspired by tasty cookies, this imperial pastry stout is jammed full of toasted coconut, toasted oats, vanilla, and cinnamon. So good, you won?t want to waste a single crumb!
Our Hippy Berliner was such a success that we ebbed to consumer demand and brewed a special edition with the addition of cooling cucumber. Bursting with sweet cucumber notes, balanced by lemon peel and tropical fruits.
On the palate this beer is puckering, but very refreshing, full of cucumber, citrus and balanced by light hopping, finishing very clean.
Cool as a cucumber, dude.

Desperate Glory is a sour brown ale inspired by Flanders Fields. The base beer is Three On A Match, a rich and complex Belgian Amber Ale with notes of dates, brown sugar and sweet spice. This spent a year resting in bourbon barrels to bring out rich oak and vanilla notes alongside a complex, funky tartness. We then carefully blended this with Chinese Keemun tea to add a light floral character with hints of tobacco and unsweetened cocoa.

This year marks 15 years of crafting delicious 8 Wired beers in Aotearoa. To celebrate, we’re releasing a series of special 15th-birthday beers, each a twist on some of our original brews. Here we’re stoked to share with you the 2nd release in this birthday bash.
Søren has always wanted to brew an imperial coffee stout, so for 8 Wired’s 15th birthday, he finally got around to making one! We’ve taken the base recipe for the iconic iStout, and cranked the ABV right up. Using an intense, rich, espresso blend from our friends at Rush, this is a truly one mighty coffee experience!

In poker, and in life, it doesn't get much worse than when you're drawing dead. To be in a position where no matter what happens, no matter how the cards fall in the future, you have no chance of winning. But even if the situation is that bleak, you can always enjoy this nice, hoppy Texas-style Brown Ale. Sweet, roasty maltiness balanced by citrusy hops and subtle esters from the fermentation will put a positive spin on any rainy day.

A unique blend of a classic Belgian-style dubbel and a fruit beer. In keeping with tradition, we've used speciality Belgian malts in the mash and fermented this dubbel with a blend of Belgian yeast strains.
The twist is a generous helping of cherries, resulting in a beer full of warm, fruity esters, punctuated with a distinct cherry sweetness and pouring a brilliant shade of crimson-red.
