Rose

This lovely new rose on our shelves from a well established winery in a remote corner of our nearest wine region, Matahiwi Estate in the northern Wairarapa. Deep pink in colour and deeply fruity in flavour, this lovely medium dry rose is made 100% from Pinot Noir grapes. 

Our best value pink bubbly and made from Pinot Noir grapes grown in the Northern Wairarapa at Matahiwi Estate vineyards. Free run juice was used to make this dry, flavoursome sparkling wine; tank fermentation provides depth of bubbles and a yeasty freshness, which adds complex flavours. 

Pale pink rose from Provence. Aromas of citrus, red fruits and white flowers. Juicy and vibrant with refreshing acidity. This is a delicious, juicy summer wine.

Rose is on a rise and this one was made entirely from Pinot Noir grapes grown on two vineyards in Bannockburn; Muirkirk and Felton Road. 

Lively, refreshing, dry and light in body as well as colour which comes from gentle whole bunch pressing over five hours to retain a little colour. The juice was fermented in stainless steel at ambient temperatures with wild yeasts, which add a savoury tang to the fresh summer berry flavours of strawberries and raspberries, intertwined with the freshness that gentle acidity brings to this wine.

Dry, lively and impressively flavoursome, this North Canterbury ros? is 100% Pinot Noir and is intentionally produced, using destemmed fruit which is pressed, with a little Pinot Noir added back for colour. A small amount of barrel aging prior to bottling adds weight and texture, accentuating the dry taste.

Mountford Estate was established in 1991 by Buffy and Michael Eaton who chose the site in Waipara for its elevation and active limestone soils. The wines are made by CP Lin, who has worked in the vineyard and winery since the early days when he became a close friend of the Eatons and a devotee of this great vineyard site and region. The winery is now owned by a Japanese investor.

Moy Hall in Martinborough is an eight hectare vineyard with a restaurant and cellar door on site. It was purchased by Phil and Carolyn McArthur, who produce wine and employ a professional chef to produce some of the wine village's finest food for day time dining. 

Aromas of strawberry and red floral notes, such as old fashioned roses, combine in this wine which is made from 88% Pinot Noir (all handpicked, gently crushed, and cool pressed) blended with 12% Syrah (also handpicked and whole-bunch pressed).

This is dry and refreshing. 

Muga White Rioja is a blend of 90% Viura and 10% Malvas?a and White Garnacha. This is a very clean and floral wine with almond and citrus notes at the forefront. The nose is very perfumed with a lime and toasty aromatics. The palate is very fresh, with good acidity and a long finish with an apple-like aftertaste.

A beautiful dry new brand from an old hand. Sir George Fistonich, founder of Villa Maria Wines, has sold up and created his next venture in a lifetime of wine - Oblix is part of Fistonich Family Vineyards wines and is a beautiful new take on the New Zealand rose theme. Dried strawberries and ripe fleshy stone fruit combine in a dry pink wine; serve lightly chilled to enjoy at its best.

Winemaker Paul Pujol is a dab hand at making this pale light bodied red from Pinot Noir. This refreshing lighter take on Pinot Noir has flavours of red berries, spice, excellent freshness and a long finish. 

Limited skin contact, wild yeast fermentation and no secondary fermentation has resulted in an intense, red cherry laced wine with fresh acidity and brightness. 

This is made to be served lightly chilled. 

Providore is one of the newer kids on the Central Otago block, made by the extremely well seasoned winemaking hands of Pete Bartle, who has made wine extensively for Otago winemakers in his previous production role at VinPro. 

This pale, fruity rose is dry and fresh with a long finish. It highlights another string to the winemaking bow of the southernmost wine region in the world.

This is New Zealand's smallest and one of its coolest climate wine regions. It typically produces high quality, delicate and silky Pinot Noirs, and this rose is made 100% from Pinot grapes, which were lightly pressed to provide a minimala pale pink hue to this lively fresh, dry and full bodied wine.
