The Red Snake range by renowned indy bottler Blackadder is bottled next to their Black Snake range. This particular Blackadder Red Snake 20PPM Raw Cask is very peaty, with 22ppm. It comes out of a first-fill ex-bourbon hogshead that was lovingly named ?Redneck 107?. It had a turnout of 192 bottles. It was not filtered, hence the Raw Cask statement on the Blackadder label. Expect a lot of lovely floatiness in this Blackadder Red Snake 20PPM Raw Cask! There are yellow fruits on the nose, but also ginger and walnuts and of course those lovely peaty campfire notes. Peatiness does not overrule the laste. You can expect a good balance of spices and yellow fruits.

As with its older brother, Red Snake only comes from top-class, first-fill ex-Bourbon casks. However, unlike its brother, each Red Snake comes from just one single cask.
Family-run indie bottler Blackadder has played a significant role in championing cask-strength single malts to whisky lovers since 1995. This mature release from Tamdhu highlights the very best from the distillery. In the glass you'll find notes of marasca cherry, orange zest, honey-nut bar and baking spices.
Matured for 14 years in ex-Oloroso Sherry casks, this Lowland dram provides rich notes of sweet cinnamon and fruit cake. On the nose you are greeted with wood spices, raisins and sultanas with a suggestion of orange peel and chocolate. To taste more dried fruits and the warming spices of fruit cake. A long, rich finish with a slight dryness leave you going back for a second dram!
Blair Athol distillery sits in the picturesque town of Pitlochry right in the middle of the Highlands of Scotland. An old distillery, it produces a classic highland style which is heavy in body, and nutty and spicy in flavour. This Blair Athol was filled from a butt which previously contained Olorosso Sherry and after such a long maturation is very full and rich.

A second addition to the INK #3 series marketed by French Retailer, Le Comptoir Irlandais is this toddler Blair Athol. While the distillery's production is primarily intended for Bell's, indies are on the rise. This one from Signatory Vintage was distilled in 2013 and filled into a rechar hogshead (a reconstituted & re-burnt cask). Akin to a malt-heavy blend, it's softer than usual for Blair Athol, offering vanilla and fruit salad on the nose as well as hints of beeswax. Likewise, the mouthfeel surprises: supple and slightly oily with flavours of barley cake, grain store and pineapple pudding, before wood spices rise in the medium long finish

Palate: Flamed orange peel, sea salt, Cadbury Bournville.
Finish: Spiced rum warmth, with layers of toasted malt.
Islay is mostly known for big, peaty, smoky whisky. Well, Bowmore is a little more dialled back, making it a balanced whisky featuring all those things you love about Islay, just in a more subtle way.Drink with: A splash of water if required.Established in 1779, Bowmore is the oldest legal distillery on Islay and one of the earliest in all Scotland. Located geographically and stylistically between the gentle whiskies to the north and the more powerful malts to the south of the island, Bowmore possesses a balance that ever-intrigues whisky aficionados. The malt is peated for a shorter period than with the stronger Islays, and the use of around a third of the casks for maturation being oloroso sherry contributes to its aromatic complexity and finesse. The past few years have seen Interest in Bowmore grow astoundingly.?
