Safe, reliable and consistent, as well as one of the oldest of Scotch whisky brands, Haig Gold label is an unpretentious blend with a high malt content (around 40%) and an ease of drinking that's made it one of the best-selling Scotch whiskies in the world. Its popularity declined briefly in the 1970s, but anyone who's tasted it recently agrees that current owners, Diageo, have reinvigorated this old standard significantly. Expect a hint of pepper from the malt as it takes hold in your mouth followed by a whisper of peat on the finish.
At the top of the House of Hazelwood range sits the 25 Year Old expression, presented beautifully in a bottle and box inspired by 1920s Art Deco design.
Nose: Pancakes and golden syrup, lime, oak furniture and oodles of vanilla.
Palate: Burnt sugar, cut grass, honey'd cereals. A few pinches of exotic spice.
Finish: Drying and quite oak-y.
Divergence is a brand owned by The Spirits Workshop located in Christchurch, New Zealand.
This whisky has vanilla, toffee apple, red berries and baking spice aromas. The palate is sweet with red fruit and dark chocolate, vanilla, light baking spice and the lingering finish is of black plums and dark chocolate.
A lightly coloured young, extremely peaty whisky from an unnamed distillery somewhere in Scotland. It's got the rampant smoke you'd expect from a beastly named whisky as well as a pleasant, citrussy fresh fruitiness. The packaging is pretty striking too, with a scary monster and a (deliberately) singed label. Bottled at 46% and un-chillfiltered, just how we like 'em

The name William Lawson's has long been admired in the whisky world. The man, William Lawson had an inspirational rise from humble beginnings always believing in staying true to himself and passionately seeking uncompromised quality. It is this ethos that has made this big, bold Scotch whisky the success that it is today.
Taste: A well balanced whisky, with a rich, bright and golden amber colour, notes of baked apple crumble with faint banana and delicate floral tones lead to a smooth and mellow taste. Displaying a satisfying balance of toasted cereals and butter toffee, this medium to full bodied whisky ends with a dry, delicate oaky finish.
