Whisky
This lightly peated whisky is made from malted barley infused with smoke during the drying process. The flavour imparted by the smoke is a reflection of Wolfburn?s history ? the original 19th Century distillery was largely fired by peat. The result is a beautifully smooth and rounded whisky.
Non chill-filtered @ 46% ABV.
"A sweet, balanced and beautifully easy-drinking dram, Langskip?s strength is matched only by its smoothness. Matured entirely in first-fill bourbon casks, this whisky has a unique richness and an extraordinary depth of flavour. Bottled at 58% alcohol by volume, Langskip represents the very best of Wolfburn.
Aromas of fruit blossom meld with dried apples and light oak. In the background you?ll find traces of raisins and dates mixed with rich fruit cake.
Flavours burst onto the palate, rich and sweet, including maple syrup, dark chocolate, almonds and raisins. The finish lingers nicely ? hints of vanilla gently fade away with a warming trace of caramel at the end."
Distiller's note.
Nose: An intoxicating burst of maraschino cherry, ripe bramble and dark chocolate with hints of orange bitters and walnut liqueur.
Taste: Honey-grazed apricot and ripe fig with a crescendo of black cherry, angelica and muscovado.
Finish: Long and enveloping with dark manuka honey, herbal bitters and dark chocolate.
The Macallan Double Cask 12 years old is 100% Sherry seasoned, and 100% Natural Color, in keeping with The Macallan?s tradition, but unique in the fact it is defined by the unmistakable prominence of the American oak style. The Macallan brings new oak from America across thousands of miles to Spain, where casks are crafted and sherry seasoned before traveling to our distillery in Speyside, where they are filled and matured for at least 12 years. These whiskies are then harmoniously united with those aged in exceptional sherry seasoned European oak casks.
Nose: This burnished gold spirit presents a lemon citrus nose, the orange peel and an interlacing sweetness that softens but doesn't eliminate the zest. A quiet note of vanilla is followed by dark chocolate - more assertive, yet not overly so - with a lingering floral and light oak notes.
Palate: Citrus and boiled sweets rule the palate, along with hints of ginger and cinnamon, while soft oak tones reveal toasted apples.
Finish: The finish is medium sweet, malty and slightly dry.
The Glenturret Sherry Cask Edition features unpeated spirit exclusively matured in European oak Sherry seasoned casks. This expression delivers inviting soft, sweet aromas of vanilla and caramel and gives way to wood spices, ginger and gentle oak on the palate. This edition is crafted in small batches at Scotland's Oldest Working Distillery with less than 60 casks hand selected to create this unique dram per batch. This exclusive bottling is a beautifully rich and rare addition to our Glenturret range of Scotch whiskies.
Taste: Wood spices come to the fore. Ginger, nutmeg lead. A warmth is noted on the palate, could be forgiven for being slightly peppery. Sweetness enters later, with soft citrus fruits. Oak is clean and slightly dry
Loch Lomond Group - Named after an island rich in meadow and woodland, our 18 Year Old has a strong oak character, with hints of summer grass, tropical fruit and zesty citrus notes. Our Master Cooper back then was Tommy Wallace, who carefully selected the finest casks to mature the liquid in for a minimum of 18 years allowing time and nature to bring out the sweeter character of the wood.
Showcasing Glen Garioch's deliciously different house style following its reawakening in 1997, this is the Third Chapter in a four-part story revealing the spirit's character at 17 years old - rich and honey-smooth with a citrus sweetness.
The 17 Year Old Highlander was matured in a combo of sherry and bourbon casks and shows off some deep chocolate and citrus notes that combine nicely with the distillery's spicy, waxy style.
The first release in a series from Highland Park launched in 2017, The Dark is a 17 year old single malt which has been drawn from European oak Sherry-seasoned casks. A fantastic example of how blending Sherried richness with elegant smoky elements can work spectacularly
