Kumeu River Pinot Noir and Chardonnay blend together to create a deliciously dry and perfectly pink cr?mant. The aromas of summer sparkle from the glass, freshly picked strawberries and white stone fruit build the texture and mouth feel we really enjoy from our Kumeu Cr?mant.
The perfect aperitif for the festive season.
Seresin Estate's Momento Riesling offers exceptional value for money and a super succulent, off dry style with nicely balanced acidity making this wine taste fresh and long on flavour. Its aromas are of lime, Granny Smith apples, ripe peach and a touch of honey but this is a wine to drink with savoury food - it matches brilliantly with Thai curries and fresh herbs. Did we mention that it's also stunning value for money.
Organic certification
The organic story at Seresin
One of the greatest things about Seresin Estate is the organic certification. This came relatively early on for Seresin, who was dismayed by the amount used and the impacts of man made chemicals, which were routinely and frequently sprayed on vines. His early adopting philosophy of organic certification paved a positive path for the integrity of the wines as well as leading others to follow suit.
Valli Riesling is inspired by the great whites of the Mosel Valley in Germany. Winemaker Grant Taylor describes this vintage as having flavours of freshly squeezed lime juice, Granny Smith apple with hints of chalk and jasmine flower.
Valli Wines was founded by Central Otago winemaker Grant Taylor in 1998 and has since become one of the most collectible Pinot Noir brands in New Zealand with four distinctly different Pinot Noirs made every year from four key sub regions in Central Otago. Grant is the only winemaker producing a consistently diverse range of wines every vintage with each wine made the same way so that the wines each express the climate and soil variations in the areas from which they come from.
James and Annie Millton are not only pioneers of certified organic winemaking in New Zealand, they are also pioneers of Viognier. They make this one from vines grown on the silt banks of the Waipoa River in the Gisborne region. This is a dry, full bodied and textural wine with ripe apricot skin and peachy flavours. It drinks well now and will continue to age gracefully for the medium term; five to six years and possibly even longer.
The sunny coastal terroir of southern Languedoc is perfect for crisp whites like Picpoul. This is a fresh and crisp Picpoul with great concentration and depth of flavour. Aromatic and fresh, with notes of pear and citrus on the nose. The palate brings a touch of minerality and lime-like acidity. The finish is persistent, with a distinct aniseed flavour. Picpoul is a perfect match for seafood or light Mediterranean foods.
One of the world's great reds for both plush softness and super great value for money. Guigal Cotes du Rhone is one of the world's biggest red wine success stories and its makers are on a constant mission of refinement in making this wine a better version of itself with regular work on the blend, the ageing and the overall quality. It's a big dark, smooth and soft textured blend of 50% Syrah, 40% Grenache, 10% Mourvèdre with the finished wine aged for 18 months in large oak foudres in the northern Rhone, in Ampuis. This town in the Cote Rotie appellation is home to Guigal's top red wines and this humble little sibling joins its more illustriously regarded, higher priced siblings there for its final ageing, pre release.
Excellent medium dry Riesling from one of the Mosel River's best producers, Weingut Fritz Haag. Refreshing, crisp and lively with concentrated lime zest and juicy flavoursome style followed by a long finish.
The Haag family has making wine since 1605 and been instrumental in the development of Brauneberger, a place recognised as one of the Mosel’s best wine areas since the sixth century. The winery is headed today by Oliver Haag, whose father Wilhelm (son of Fritz) became recognised as a Riesling world leader, awarded the deceptively simple title of Winegrower of the Year in 1994.
Taylor’s Fine Tawny is aged for up to three years in large old oak in Vila Nova de Gaia at the mouth of the mighty Douro River; home to port.
It is a sweet, medium ruby coloured wine with medium body and finish; a lighter style of port and bottled ready to drink. It does not require any further ageing in bottle and will not evolve in flavour further.
Drink lightly chilled with tasty cheese and dried fruit or as an aperitif on its own.
