Peddlers is the world?s first Chinese craft gin. Its secret is a carefully curated fusion of botanicals and ideas from the West and the Far East. The Gin was inspired by Shanghai?s underground culture: a diverse community of creators and artists, merchants and musicians, who push the boundaries of their craft.
Originally bottled to celebrate the Edinburgh Tattoo, tis is quite a unique and ultimately satisfying Gin. It's bottled with a few more Indian spice notes - it's stronger on the cardamom, cinnamon and clove notes that it's siblings. The limey notes in this Gin makes this a great partner for Soad. Squeeze a couple of lime quarters so that the juice covers the glass, fill with ice, drop your preferred measure of gin over, and top with soda. Refreshing as!
Reid+Reid - Reid + Reid Reverend Dawson’s Gin is named after one of New Zealand’s leading prohibitionist who also happens to be the great, great grandfather of Stewart and Chris Reid.
Reverend John Dawson was the Gerneral Secretary of the N.Z. Alliance from 1909 - 1925. During this period Dawson became widely known because of his assiduous parliamentary lobbying and campaigning in favour of total prohibition.
This gin is distilled using the ‘one shot’ method to produce a classic dry gin focusing on juniper and citrus flavours.
Tasting Notes: Piney juniper with zesty citrus characters. Fresh and bright on the palate with a textural and aromatic finish.
The Reid brothers have backgrounds in engineering and winemaking, both of which gave their curious minds something related to work with when they began distilling gin. Reid + Reid gin has all the usual botanicals, coriander, juniper, lemons and more, but it is the addition of distinctly New Zealand botanicals that make it unique. The brothers like to think it's as much a celebration of great gin as a nod to New Zealand's fauna. In this case they've used manuka, kawakawa and horopito. It's a dry, refreshing gin, particularly suited to a long G & T, with plenty of ice and a twist of lemon.
A Rifter is much like that of a forager or a fossicker from the early gold mining era; they explored the rifts around the hills of Arrowtown, searching for that elusive nugget. At the end of a long day, a refreshing gin was always welcomed.
Rifters is a small batch boutique gin. Handcrafted in New Zealand using flavourful botanicals and pure New Zealand artesian water. Made to be enjoyed in good company.
Rifters bottle represents those used by the foragers and fossickers of the Arrowtown founders. The search for it took them to the Arrowtown Museum. It was there that they discovered a number of original Dutch gin bottles that had been unearthed in the town?s surrounding hills. Those bottles had been left behind by gold miners over one hundred and fifty years ago. Rifters bottle is a representation of that Arrowtown history, coloured to match the schist in the mountains that surround them in Central Otago.
Rifters was started by a couple of kiwi builders who are pretty fond of gin. One day in the workshop, they decided they might have a nudge at creating their own. A couple of years later and a whole lot of trial, they figured things out.
Tasting Notes: An enhanced dry gin full of botanical flavour, pure, clean and balanced. Citrus forward, with a fresh dry finish.
A botanical gin, small batch distilled. Infused with Elderberries & Mint Tips, along with locally foraged Wild Thyme, Manuka and Douglas Fir.
Experience the delight of these Central Otago flavours.
