A juicy, soft, super smooth Garnacha (aka Grenache) from Chivite, a great Spanish wine producer. Grapes were hand harvested, destemmed and lightly crushed before going through pre ferment maceration to extract colour.
The result is a succulent, smooth, dry red wine with notes of red fruit and spice. It's medium bodied and great value for money.
Grupo Chivite has its origins in Bodegas Julián Chivite, am old winery that dates back to 1647. Four brothers now run the company, which owns over 400 hectares, 150 of which are dedicated to Tempranillo; Spain's most important and most planted red grape variety.
One of the great dry Rieslings of North Canterbury, a region with a long dry autumn that typically results in concentrated citrus flavours of ripe lemon zest and notes of green apple, which stretch out to a lingering vibrant finish in this memorably delicious wine. It typically contains 4 grams residual sugar per litre (firmly in the dry camp) each year, including in this new release from the 2019 vintage. The wine is made from grapes harvested at 20.5 brix from low cropping land (2.2 tonnes per hectare). This Riesling is made from a vineyard planted on the Glasnevin Gravels. All grapes are hand picked, whole bunch pressed to stainless steel and fermented with a neutral yeast strain then aged on lees until bottled in late summer following harvest.
This wine drinks beautifully now as a youthful, refreshing dry white and also ages superbly for five to six years, potentially longer in good cellar conditions.
Berry Bros & Rudd - Deep and enticing, dusty sweet corn husks mingled with rich seasoned oak notes to provide an assertive, uplifting nose which is softened by honey and vibrant fruit. The palate expands gloriously with a background sour-mash, chalky hit doused by layers of honey and dark treacle toffee. Lingering and giving to the death; this is a masterpiece of balance, complexity, texture and structure.
As the name suggests, the Geuze Discovery Box is a box that lets you discover several new geuze beers. The box contains four new Oude Geuze Boon 'VAT' beers, each matured in its own particular oak barrel at the Boon Brewery reserve. In the cellars of Boon Brewery today, there are 158 giant oak barrels known as "foeders", each containing up to 27,000 liters of lambic beer. Visitors to the Brewery sometimes ask whether they can taste the beer in the barrels and whether the beer from a particular barrel can be bought in shops. In the past, this wasn't possible because Oude Geuze Boon normally consists of a mixture of lambic from several different barrels. "But then we thought about it and, in 2013, we brought the very first Oude Geuze Boon VAT 44 to market," explained Frank Boon, founder of the brewery. "This was a small production of Oude Geuze made up of 90% lambic from a single barrel, foeder number 44. The remaining 10% was a young lambic which contained the sugars for the bottle conditioning." ?The oak barrels in our brewery each have their own history and are characterised by unique microflora of wild yeast. The use of lambic from a particular oak barrel creates geuzes with very distinctive characteristics: vinous, whiskey-like, bone dry or very soft. The number on the bottle always indicates the vat number", explains the eldest son, Jos Boon. Discover Four Different Oak Foeders Since 2013, the brewery has made four Oude Geuze Boon 'VAT' beers. But now, for the first time, four different VAT Geuzes are brought onto the market together at the same time in the 'Geuze Discovery Box.' In this convenient box, you'll find Oude Geuze Boon VAT 91, VAT 92, VAT 108 and VAT 110. These are 37.5 cl bottles. The ability to taste four different VAT numbers at the same time is really a fascinating experience. The Geuze Discovery Box also comes with a booklet which contains more information about the Geuze production process and the various foeders. This booklet also contains tips on the art of Geuze pouring and tasting. It's perfect for beer tastings, or as a gift. Globalbeer.com

"The 2019 Chateauneuf du Pape Les Safres is impressively rich and ripe, delivering velvety layers of black cherries and blueberries, combined with hints of dried spices and dark chocolate. Full-bodied, expansive in the mouth and long on the finish, it looks to be an excellent example of Les Safres, which is 95% Grenache from Les Bedines. "

"Leading off the 2019 Châteauneuf du Pape, all of which were tasted from barrel, the 2019 Châteauneuf Du Pape Les Safres should equal or surpass the 2018 as it has the same level of elegance and finesse, yet even better mid-palate depth and concentration. It’s beautifully done and well worth purchasing. "

"Black cherries and dark chocolate swirl together on the nose of the 2019 Chateauneuf du Pape Les Quartz, which somehow manages to retain a mouthwatering sense of freshness on the finish despite the massive ripeness. Full-bodied, richly velvety in feel and expansive in the mouth, this is an impressive effort that's sure to please when young. "

"The 2019 Ch?teauneuf Du Pape Les Quartz also looks to be a step up over the 2018, with rockstar levels of blackberry and kirsch fruits interwoven with lots of garrigue, sappy flowers, and melted licorice. This big, opulent, super-plush, and sexy 2019 is flawlessly balanced, has great tannins, and a monster of a finish. Count me impressed. Is this even better than the 2016? "

2019 VINTAGE: A legendary vintage with perfect balance.
We will remember this vintage as one of the best vintages of the decade in Châteauneuf-du-Pape. Spring and summer were dry and hot, with a full week of heatwave end of June –temperatures rose more than 40°c during! The hydric deficit impacted strongly the weight of the berries which were small and very concentrated. The sanitary conditions were excellent with almost no sort out in the vineyard. We had the chance to wait for perfect maturitiesof the grapes. The fresh nights during the summer allowus to harvest grapes with important tannic structure and good PH. The reds are powerful, generous with freshness and such a balance! Ageing potential is very high.
Blend: 80% Grenache - 20% Mourvèdre
AGEING: 90% in demi-muids and 10% in terra-cotta amphoras for 14 months.
TASTING: This wine has a pretty Chinese inky color with purple reflections. The nose shows a stunning bouquet of black plums, chocolate notes and cocoa. All these aromas are linked with soft spices, paprika, cumin, curcuma. The palate of La Réserve is smooth,full-bodied,with very elegant and soft tannins. This is dominated with redcurrant notes, black cherry and licorice. This cuvée is definitely made for a long-term ageing while it is already plenty of pleasure now!

"The flagship Côtes du Rhône from this estate, the 2019 Côtes du Rhône La Reserve is certainly the biggest, richest, and most impressive Côtes du Rhône in the lineup. Revealing a deep purple color as well as rich, powerful bouquet of smoky red and black fruits, peppery herbs, crushed stone, and ample Provençal garrigue, it hits the palate with medium to full-bodied richness, a deep, layered mid-palate, and a great finish. This concentrated, Provençal 2019 will benefit from 2-3 years of bottle age and keep for upwards of a decade, if you’re so inclined."
The central, and entry level release in the Elgin Classic range from Glen Moray distillery. Very easy to drink, this stuff offers up hints of soft citrus and barley.

Palate: Oak, gentle. Well balanced, walnut, grist. Citrus, lemon sponge.
Finish: Tangy citrus, spicy fruitcake.
