"In November of 2018 we brewed our first IPA for the Mikkeller Beer Club. The M.B.C exclusive IPA was an oats-heavy, simcoe-focused hard hitter aptly named The Mikkeller Beer Club IPA, yet somehow, soon nicknamed ’the Baboon’. We liked it. You loved it. But the brew sheet and all records of how to brew the Baboon got lost in time, like tears in rain. After several successful Voight-Kampff tests we decided to give this Nexus-6-Baboon our DIPA-treatment instead of trying to duplicate the original. We also increased the flavor and aroma with a massive double dry hopping regime. The result is an impeccably crafted hop-lord DIPA bursting with notes of mango, grapefruit and pineapple with a vibrant juicy finish worthy a Tyrell Corporation board meeting. (Please note that all of our beers are programmed with the Methuselah Syndrome and hops fade fast - store cold and drink fresh!)"

After years of being asked when there would be a Hazy Zombie we decided the time was right to add a new addition to the Zombie family. Hazy Zombie brings bold flavours, massive hop aroma, taste and a deadly haze addiction.

Originating from East Coast USA, the New England or Hazy IPA style de-emphasizes hop bitterness and showcases hop flavour and aroma reminiscent of tropical fruit juice.
We?ve brewed our first hazy IPA with a juicy combination of Maris Otter & wheat malts, oats, and a truck load of tropical fruit driven hops from NZ, Australia and USA.(Riwaka, NZ Hops Trial NZ4337, Citra, Mosaic, Galaxy, Ella.
It?s super juicy and really smashable.

"Juice Head used 10kg of freshly processed freeze dried South Australian Blood Orange in this zingy hazy. We decided to use domestically-grown Motueka hops due to their versatile flavour profile of lime zest and grapefruit, providing a subtle citrus backbone to each of these beers. And all of the malts used in this beer are grown and malted in NZ We’ve opted for Ale Malt and Big-O Malted Oats from Gladfield in Canterbury, and Flaked Wheat from Harraway’s in Dunedin.
We used Fermentis S-33 Yeast to do the hard yards of fermentation, which was initially designed as a yeast for Belgian style ales! This has recently become very popular among breweries when brewing Hazy IPAs due to the subtle stonefruit and melon notes it provides, and it’s ability to leave plenty of residual sugar in the finished beer for increased body. And finally, we’ve gone and acidified these beers with a metered dose of lactic acid to boost perceived acidity and really draw out those focal flavours! There’s a million ways to sour a beer, but considering how complicated these beers are already, figured we’d keep this last step simple and precise! Adjusting the pH of a beer even just a little bit allows the whole flavour profile to be dialed in, allowing us to hone in on the fruit-forward notes of the hops, yeast, and of course the fruit itself." - Juice Head
