Racy dry Riesling from the hand of Thomas Haag, brother of the infamous Fritz Haag. This is single vineyard (Wehlener Sonnenuhr) magic and has the Grosse Gewachs designation that states it is right at the top of the quality pile - from a Grosse Lage (similar to a first growth if you were to compare to France).
From our friends at Wine Advocate...
The 2019 Wehlener Sonnenuhr Riesling GG is intense yet fine on the nose, where ripe fruit aromas intertwine with very delicate and refreshing crunchy slate and herbal aromas. Full-bodied, intense and juicy on the palate, this is voluptuous yet finessed and mineral with a long, intense, quite powerful and structured finish that is still somewhat astringent, though, and needs 2-4 years to soften. Tasted at the domain in September 2020.
Thomas Haag has again produced the full range of eight Grosses Gewächs Rieslings in 2019, which I will taste later this year. For this report, I can only give my first impressions of five grand crus, although they were still cloudy and not yet ready in spring when I predominantly tasted the lower levels and the—gorgeous—sweet predicate wines. However, I will share my first findings here, just in case you want to subscribe to them before they will be sold out. About the season, Thomas Haag reports an early budding followed by optimal flowering, an exceptional summer with record temperatures and capricious weather in autumn. "All this has put us winegrowers under full strain. However, intensive manual work and precisely selective harvesting rewarded us with perfectly healthy grapes and exceptional qualities, albeit with lower yields. The cool nights in late summer helped the grapes to achieve an intense and concentrated aroma and perfect acidity levels, which promise excellent aging capacity." The wines I have tasted so far are rich yet precise and elegant, presenting high extracts and a complex expression of the particular terroirs, all balanced by remarkably fine and stimulating acidity. One of my childs of sorrow, the Niederberg Helden, is the origin of a terrific series of Rieslings that can, thus far, only be topped by the selections from the Wehlener Sonnenuhr.
FESTWEISSE
A celebration of life
Ideal for celebrations: "Meine Festweisse" - the lucid golden wheat beer, renewed from the traditional Oktoberfest beer recipe. Its fresh citrusy note is derived from precious Cascade hop and the fruity Schneider yeast - a real treat, unrivaled in freshness and drinkability. A great companion for Mediterrenean and light dishes, and - of course - festive gatherings.
6,2 % vol. alc.
New Zealand Cascade and Hallertauer Tradition, organic cultivation
organic wheat malt, organic barley malt
open fermentation, genuine bottle fermentation
non-filtrated, non-pasteurized

"For golden moments by the fireplace: "Mein Aventinus" - the wholehearted, dark ruby coloured wheat beer, intensive and fiery, warming, well-balanced and tender. Bavaria's oldest wheat "Doppelbock" - brewed since 1907! Its sturdy body in combination with its sweet malty aroma is an invitation to profound indulgence - an ingenious blend with a strong body. Perfectly matches rustic dishes, dark roasts and sweet desserts." - Brewers note.
8.2% ABV.
Tasting Note: Deep and complex bouquet of red cherry and sweet raspberry, pomegranate and hints of fresh zesty blood orange. Full-bodied yet extremely elegant, fine-grained but present tannins, minerally, youthful acidity and hints of Five Spice and a deep core of cool, vibrant fruit, lovely length, and persistence. Cellar 12 to 18 years.
Winemaking Notes: Harvested 9th April 2016, bottled 15th February 2018. Hand-picked and carefully selected 100% Abel Clone Pinot Noir grapes. All de-stemmed, cold-macerated and fermented in small batch stainless steel vats and left on grape skins for 4 weeks. Aged in 100% new French oak barriques of the Bourgogne Tonnelleries Rousseau, Remond and Meyrieux for 20 months. No fining and only light filtration before bottling.
?With a slew of red-berry and spicy nuances, this is a super-elegant pinot noir with very fine tannins that are now almost perfectly resolved. Extremely long, polished and mineral finish of the kind you expect from Grand Cru red Burgundy with some age. From organically grown grapes. Drink or hold.? ? James Suckling, January 2022
?Plenty of spiciness to the hibiscus, ripe-cherry, strawberry, oyster, mushroom and earth aromas. Smoky, too. Full and dense. Then it changes to dried cherries with some citrus, closing up nicely with freshness and intensity. Needs time to open. First bottling of this. From organically grown grapes. Drink or hold. Better after 2024.? ? James Suckling, October 2022

Seresin Estate's Zosia Rose is superbly flavoursome rose has rich dark fruity flavours, thanks to being made from the Abel clone of Pinot Noir (the king of Pinot grapes) grown on a north facing plot in the Raupo Vineyard in Marlborough.
Savoury depth adds complexity to this medium bodied rose, which tastes more like a pale red wine than a youthful pink one. Wild yeast fermentation in old French oak with partial malolactic fermentation adds softness to the wine.
Organic certification
The organic story at Seresin
One of the greatest things about Seresin Estate is the organic certification. This came relatively early on for Seresin, who was dismayed by the amount used and the impacts of man made chemicals, which were routinely and frequently sprayed on vines. His early adopting philosophy of organic certification paved a positive path for the integrity of the wines as well as leading others to follow suit.
Full bodied, dry, smooth and creamy wine, which has great tension and finely balanced acidity in every succulent sip. Here's a Chardonnay that succeeds admirably in highlighting all the bells and whistles that white wine lovers enjoy in their favourite full bodied white, but also has the restraint of a beautifully balanced wine.

One of New Zealand's most innovative and delicious white wines, Chiaroscuro is a co-fermented field blend of Pinot Gris, Riesling, Viognier and Gew?rztraminer, all harvested together and fermented together to create a wine of harmony where the whole is greater than the sum of its parts. Inspired by the great whites of the French Alsace winemaker Marcel Deiss. The name adds another twist to the story of this wine because it's an Italian word, meaning dark-light and referring to the contrast that the different grapes each bring to the table for this interesting full bodied dry white.

Winemaker: Julian Altaber
Philosophy: ?All the grapes come from vines cultivated without weed killer or synthetic product, which requires a lot of work on my part as well as the winegrowers who supply me with the grapes! All wines are vinified and aged without any oenological product (or sulfite) with very little intervention. We are not trying to make great wines but real, honest wines with the best possible drinkability index. Wine is a drink of conviviality, friendship, celebration!?
100% Chardonnay from Saint Aubin and C?te Chalonnaise vineyards. Organically farmed, hand harvested, whole bunch pressed into used French oak barriques, wild fermented and matured (full malo) on gross lees, bottled unfiltered and unfined.
